WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT THAT AMAZING PLACE. FIND OUT HOW THIS VENUE GOT ITS NAME & WHY YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU BOOK.
Getting married at That Amazing Place AKA ‘Hubbards Hall’? With a history dating back to the 15th Century what’s not to like right?

For a long time, it was simply a residential property enjoyed only by those that lived there. These days, the current owners have opened it up to the world & literally transformed it into a multi award winning wedding venue with exclusivity for couples wanting to tie the knot there. That’s exclusivity on the day of the wedding AND overnight into the next morning which is fantastic , you may as well have another G & T to celebrate!
What I like most about this place is how homely and intimate it seems. It’s actually got that charming ‘home away from home’ feel to it that makes you want to stay longer. It’s a really nice drive up to the venue through over hanging trees and views of the surrounding countryside. Quite often I’ll ask my couples to go for a nice stroll along there. This is just one of many natural settings on the property (more on this later).

Once you’re parked up for the day, you’ll see to your left the newest addition to the venue , the wonderful marquee. This was built in April 2018 and can hold between 100-150 people if you wanted your ceremony there, 150 for a reception and up to 200 people for the evening celebrations so it gives you ample flexibility for you and your guests. It’s got a bright and airy feel and during the hot summer months, you can opt to have the panoramic walls opened up for an al-fresco type dining experience.

Straight ahead and just a hop and a skip from the marquee is the main building. Downstairs is beautifully furnished and always well looked after with full use for all your guests. The largest of the rooms downstairs is the Hall. This too has flexibility for your consideration. It can be used for your ceremony (holding up to 100 people), a wedding breakfast which allows up to 80 people OR you can dance the night away in here , you just have to ask and the team at That Amazing Place & I’m pretty sure they’ll accommodate your needs!

When I think of weddings at That Amazing Place, I think ‘options, options, options’. If you walk through the main entrance and past the reception, you’ll come across a rather comfy looking lounge space which also doubles up as a ceremony room for up to 70 guests. The view doesn’t get much better than this if you opt to tie the knot in this room. Actually, there is one area that you might be inclined to think beats this, and that’s by the lake itself. That’s right, you can actually get married under a wonderful gazebo by the lake, which is situated at the back of the venue. It’s incredibly peaceful there and one of the most beautiful settings you’ll come across in your search for the perfect wedding venue. This might just grab the award for the longest aisle walk in Essex (if not further afield), which is a wedding photographers dream. It adds to the excitement and anticipation of the event when you see the bridal party make their way from the main building, across the well-kept lawn and down the aisle.

Back up to the main building, you’ll have full use of the cozy bar area which is opposite the lounge and left a bit. This is a popular hangout on wedding days , I can’t think for one moment why 🙂

The cottage is where the bridal party gets ready and is located to the right of the main building in a beautiful secluded area away from prying eyes. The bride gets to see guests arriving and all the goings on from the upstairs window whilst avoiding detection , now there’s a plus point for you ladies!!!

Now, probably the greatest feature of having weddings at That Amazing place is its ability to accommodate up to 27 of your closest friends and family overnight (29 in total if you include the bride and groom). Here’s a little a breakdown of the accommodation for you:
1 x Wedding Cottage
9 x Double/Twin Rooms
A Two Bedroom Family Apartment
Family Room (sleeping 4)
1 x Single
Even after all this, there is still more (although it’s supposed to be a secret so please don’t tell anyone). If you look to your right as you walk out on to the patio area at the back of the venue, you’ll see a natural archway covered with leaves. This is the entrance to a secret garden but mums the word. I often use this area to take my couples away for a breather. Take a moment to explore this area, there’s more to it than you think.
FEATURED WEDDING
So on to my featured wedding at That Amazing Place which I shot in 2018 and includes the new Marquee. Siobhan and Rich had chosen the Gazebo by the lake to tie the knot so be sure to check that out. They also opted to have the Lounge turned into a dance area and even added lawn games for the guests with pizza to finish! Now that’s why you would call this place ‘That Amazing Place’. It’s so much more than just a name , it lives up to its tag and goes above and beyond for all that are lucky enough to secure a date there.
