Nestled in the scenic heart of Suffolk, Swynford Manor offers a stunning blend of historic charm and modern elegance. The manor’s beautiful gardens, grand interiors, and peaceful surroundings make it a dream backdrop for any wedding day. Milly and Alex’s Wedding: A Day to Remember

Milly and Alex are a very cute couple and well suited. They chose this venue because of its black and white decor which is timeless and classic. They built their theme around what Swynford Manor had created as a base for them. The day kicked off with a relaxed morning on both fronts.

Milly was upstairs in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids and Alex was in a small cottage next door to the main building with his groomsmen.

Milly and Alex opted for an outdoor wedding. Weddings at Swynford Manor can be either inside in the newly decorated ceremony room overlooking the grounds OR outside in a beautiful setting among the greenery. The bride only comes down the stunning staircase once all the guests are seated.

It was a gorgeous ceremony. Here’s a fews samples of how it went:

One of the things I love about photographing weddings at Swynford Manor is the variety of beautiful spots for capturing those special moments. Inside you have large bay windows letting in plenty of natural light with it’s timeless black and white theme throughout. Outside you’re spoilt for choice from the pagoda behind the main building, through to the long winding walk way at the front of Swynford that is breathtaking.

Capturing the Heart of the Day

As a photographer, my goal is always to tell the story of the day — the candid moments, the little details, the genuine emotions. Weddings at Swynford Manor give me so many opportunities to do just that. From the first look to the final dance, I aim to capture the love, joy, and connection that make each wedding unique.

Milly and Alex really thought about their wedding guests. They hired a live illustrator to draw their guests and even hired a beer pong set to keep the younger generation happy.

I tend to defer the couple shots until after the meal. That way, the couple gets more time with their guests and they don’t feel too burnt out during the first part of the day. I usually capture the candids, the room decor for the reception and the group shots at this time.

During Milly and Alex’s couple portraits, we wandered around the beautiful gardens, taking advantage of the golden hour’s soft light. Swynford Manor’s grounds are a photographer’s dream — with charming surroundings and lush greenery. I always encourage couples to relax and be themselves during these photos, because those genuine smiles and embraces are what make the images truly special.

The reception was lively for sure. We moved the cake on to the dance floor and then moved it to make way for the floor space for the first dance. That was the last official obligation for the day. From there, we got the party started and there were plenty of takers to the dance floor. Weddings at Swynford Manor are truly about celebrating love with your family and friends in a setting that feels both timeless and effortlessly beautiful.

The venue’s flexibility means it works just as well for a small, intimate ceremony or a larger celebration. Plus, the on-site accommodations make it easy for guests to stay overnight, which adds a relaxed, festive vibe to the whole experience.
