WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT VAULTY MANOR

Wedding photography at Vaulty Manor is always a pleasure. Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Maldon, Essex, Vaulty Manor stands as a stunning choice for couples looking to tie the knot. This blog serves as inspiration for any of you that are looking to book Vaulty Manor, or have already booked. It’s a full day wedding from the getting ready scenes through to the party to give you an idea of how it might look in my signature style.

Vaulty Manor boasts a fascinating history that dates back to the 14th century. Originally a farmhouse, the manor has been lovingly restored while retaining its charming character and historic features. The building itself tells a story, with its beautiful wooden beams, original fireplaces, and gorgeous gardens.

As you step into Vaulty Manor, you’ll feel a sense of timeless elegance that is hard to find elsewhere. The venue’s historical significance adds depth to your wedding and my couple (Rob & Rachel) couldn’t agree more. This is how their day unfolded.

We had the most beautiful winter sunshine on a fresh late October day. My wedding photography at Vaulty Manor was off to a flier with the wedding dress shot. I opted to utilise the sunlight and hang the dress on one of the many buildings in the surrounding areas. Careful not to let anyone see it of course. I was quick and had the dress back in no time.

The guys chose the manor house to get ready, so I suggested my favourite room which is the first on the right as you walk through the main door at the front. It gives the most stunning light during the day and the lads were light hearted as they got ready so we captured some real authentic moments. Something I always strive to look for on any wedding day.

We had a surprise for the groom that was booked in secret by the bride. Rob is a big fan of classic cars and Rachel knew that he would love this if she booked it. I can tell you he absolutely loved the classic red Jaguar.

My wedding photography at Vaulty Manor just went up a few notches because what this did for me was to offer a distraction so that people didn’t notice I was taking photos. I was essentially a fly on the wall and captured lots of natural candid moments.

Back with Rachel on the final preparations and again I used the manor house due to the gorgeous winter sunshine streaming through the windows. It was a delight to capture the finishing touches before we headed to the ceremony room.

Vaulty manor wedding venue offers a couple of locations to tie the knot and Rachel had her heart set on having an outdoor ceremony in the gardens. Unfortunately, the staff had to make the call to have it inside due to being very wet under foot on the grass. It just wasn’t viable for the guests.

The indoor ceremony room is just as nice and offers a very different look for you. Lots of wood beams and a cozy feel to this room meant Rob & Rachel soon forgot all about getting married outside. It was really lovely and you could just tell how much they cared about each other.

I have to say that the vendor that did the decor for the couple did an amazing job. They go by the name of ‘The vintage house that could’ and they will give you a custom display to suit your needs. Here they went with a warm winter palette with a hint of pink to match the bridesmaids dresses. Such a lovely way to dress a venue like Vaulty Manor.

My wedding photography at Vaulty Manor continued outside the Manor house where I’ll often capture the confetti shot. Couples will take 5 minutes out to compose themselves in the Manor house while I set the lines up. When they’re ready, they’ll come out of the main door, past the fountain and through the waiting wedding guests to the end. It’s a stunning backdrop and it’s credit to Vaulty Manor wedding venue.

We were then obliged to capture some shots of the classic Jaguar before it had to go on to the next event. It was just as well because the sunshine was insanely good. I’ll often get my couples to enjoy a drink together and let things naturally unfold for a more realistic set of images. I honestly couldn’t believe my luck with the weather, the people and the venue on this day!

The wedding guests tend to grab a drink in the courtyard at the back of the venue (past the bar). They too were enjoying the sunshine during this October wedding at Vaulty Manor.

One of the most appealing aspects of Vaulty Manor is its capacity to host weddings of various sizes. The venue can accommodate up to 200 guests, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations.

After the festivities, you and your guests can enjoy comfortable accommodations on-site. Vaulty Manor offers a range of luxurious rooms, including bridal suites and guest accommodations to ensure that you can have a good time and not have to worry about taxi’s and getting home after the event.

Weddings at Vaulty Manor in the winter means that you do have to be VERY organised to get everything done before it gets dark. I approached the couple to see if they wanted to get the last moments of the sun going down behind the trees and they jumped at the chance. We ventured over to the manor house and then out the back where the sun was setting (near the pagoda where you tie the knot outside).

We got some cracking images from this part of the day. I felt like my wedding photography at Vaulty Manor was most definitely heading in the right direction to tick all the boxes for Rob and Rachel.

We were now in the reception room. The couple entered the room and immediately opted to cut the cake. The wedding guests were already gathered in the room, so it made sense for them to have some fun in front of everyone.

We had a break for service and then cracked on with the speeches. They were emotional as anticipated. Everyone seemed so close and it made all the difference to how I captured this stage of the day.

Just behind the curtains at the end of the reception room lies the dance floor. It’s kept hidden from the guests until it’s needed after the service has finished. Once thing I love about Vaulty Manor is the fact that there’s no need to turn the room around during this period after the speeches. Everyone can remain seated if they like because the dance floor is in front of them as the curtains open up for the evening.

The first dance was quick to say the least. The wedding guests were eager to join the couple and the evening festivities got under way. My wedding photography at Vaulty Manor was coming to an end. What an incredible day at one of the gems of the wedding industry. I can’t wait to go back 🙂
