LUXURY WEDDING AT ESSEX ESTATE
Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting journeys you’ll ever embark on, and finding the perfect venue sets the tone for your entire day. If you’re dreaming of a fairytale celebration surrounded by history, elegance, and impeccable service, a luxury wedding at an Essex estate like Gosfield Hall might just be what you’re looking for. Today, I want to share a glimpse into the world of Victoria & Aaron’s stunning wedding at Gosfield Hall.
Essex is home to some of the most luxury wedding venues in Essex, offering a blend of historic charm and modern luxury. Whether you’re seeking a grand estate with sprawling gardens or a more intimate setting, Essex’s wedding venues cater to all styles and sizes. Among these, Gosfield Hall shines as an elegant wedding venue Essex that perfectly combines history, sophistication, and romance.
I’ll often start with details before capturing the natural scenes of the people on the day. Today, I used the dark wood of the library to really pop those details.
For couples who appreciate timeless elegance, historic Essex estates for weddings like Gosfield provide a stunning backdrop where ever you find yourself throughout the day. I utilised the wonderful terrace area next to the library for the groomsmen finishing touches. The warmer months allow us to explore the out door areas and this set of images worked out really well.
If exclusivity is high on your list, the county boasts some of the most exclusive wedding venues in Essex that promise privacy and personalised service. Gosfield Hall is popular with couples because it’s one of the most unique wedding venues Essex. Victoria chose the room next to the Rococo suite to get ready in (often reserved for the parents of the bride), but it has such beautiful tones and plenty of natural light for some truly memorable moments.
When it comes to romantic Essex wedding locations, the options are endless. Think lush gardens, historic courtyards, and grand halls. Victoria & Aaron’s wedding at Gosfield Hall was a perfect example of an elegant wedding venue Essex, where every corner exuded romance and sophistication. They chose the grand salon for their ceremony location and it’s a great choice. Those big bay windows give so much natural light and the decor matches the charm that this venue offer has in spades. Everything about this room is perfect for ceremonies, drinks, group shots and couple shots. Love this place 🙂
Once the ceremony is over, the next step for the wedding guests at this luxury wedding Essex Estate is the drinks and canapés. This often takes place on the terrace in the warmer months and really shows off the venue in all it’s glory. The sun shines all day on this side of the estate, so guests can enjoy the rays while they catch up with friends and family.
While we’re still in the early stages of April, I have one eye on the quality of light, so my Essex Estate wedding photography turns towards the couple shots once the bride and groom have had the chance to mingle. Once everyone sits down for the meal and completes the speeches, we’re really up against it with the light, so I make a point of doing the couple shots and group shots before this happens.
I love to use the grand salon and keep the vibe natural and relaxed. There are so many areas to use at Gosfield, that you can’t physically use it all in one day. This venue is one of the most premium wedding venues in Essex, so the memories that you’ll take from this place will be truly amazing. Here’s how it went for Victoria and Aaron..
The staff at this exclusive wedding venue Essex will give the bride and groom the first look of their reception room before the guests get to seat. I like to capture the first few moments that they see it and then capture the details in all it’s glory before the food is served. You can’t go wrong in here. It’s one of the rooms that many couples book the venue off of the back of seeing it. The chandeliers, floor to ceiling mirrors and dark wood panelling just exude luxury and a royal touch fit for any wedding.
While the food is served, I headed down stairs at this luxury wedding Essex estate to capture the details like the cake, guest book and grounds. It’s a peaceful time of the day where you can take it all in. You can charge your internal battery and go again when the speeches start.
My worries of the light disappearing were not realised at this wedding because we caught the sunset after the speeches and it was one of the best silhouette shots I’ve ever taken at Gosfield Hall. Well worth asking the couple to pop out and capture something special.
Gosfield Hall is an Historic Essex estate for weddings and I like to use as many areas as I can. While the guests grab another drink on the terrace, I took the bride and her bridesmaids away around the right side of the Estate to have some fun with the last knocking of the sun. I don’t ask too much of the ladies because I want real moments and authenticity. It helps that they had had a few drinks to let loose and really have some fun.
The cake cut happened in one of many Romantic Essex wedding locations at Gosfield. It was in the library where most of the guests mingled. It’s rare to do it here but I really liked the results against that dark panelling. It was very Gosfield Hall and very much in keeping with the look and feel of the day.
Next to the library is the bar and the dance floor. We would often capture the first dance straight after the cake cut. It means that the couple can start the party once the final official obligation has been completed. It’s a cozy room for sure, so it doesn’t take too many people in there to make it feel full.
So there you have it, thank you for exploring this luxury wedding at the wonderful Essex Estate in Halstead. If you’re looking for an editorial photographer, I’d love to hear from you. You can check out my portfolio HERE, or my website HERE. I also have my instagram HERE.
