WEDDINGS IN TUNBRIDGE WELLS

The gorgeous couple – Harriett and Luke opted to have their wedding in Tunbridge Wells. It was a boho chic barn estate (chosen for the festival vibe it gives off to anyone who visits). They also wanted a very laid back approach when it came to capturing their big day. For the most part, they wanted full on documentary coverage so it showed the real story of the day.

I’ll often start with the groom prep because coverage of that part of the day will take 15-20 minutes and then I leave them to it – (usually to hit the bar for a touch of pre ceremony courage).

The couples chosen venue was called Chafford Park Estate in Tunbridge wells. The getting ready part of the day takes place in a stately home full of character and charm. The rooms are far enough apart so you don’t bump into each other before the ceremony.

I always give the bridal party a head start and tend to shoot the later stages of hair and makeup so this allowed me to explore the grounds and capture the setup for the day. The wedding barn was beautifully decorated and was well suited for the vibe they wanted.

There are plenty of stunning wedding venues in Tunbridge wells but this one has a very cosy feel to it and complimented the couple who were clearly very family orientated. The bridal prep consisted of the brides sister and her mum while getting ready. Then she met dad for the first look downstairs before heading off to the ceremony in a beautiful and unusual wedding car. Perfect for this kind of wedding.

Morning prep completed at this wedding in Tunbridge Wells and the bride made her way down the short pathway to the barn ceremony location in her stunning wedding car. It was an emotional event and beautifully decorated. It went without a hitch and soon enough the wedding guests at the Chafford Park Estate in Tunbridge Wells were basking in the July sunshine enjoying drinks and meeting the couple for the first time that day.

The one thing I love about the Chafford Park Estate in Tunbridge wells is that it can offer a number of different locations in a relatively small area. We have the stately home feel for the morning, the barns for the official parts of the day and then the Tipi’s in the fields. Everything is easily accessible and wedding guest friendly.

After the drinks, the guests headed into the reception room (situated right next to the ceremony room). A welcoming room full of charm and beautifully decorated. If you’re looking to book a barn vibe in Tunbridge Wells, you might want to look into the Chafford Park Estate. You won’t be disappointed with what you get for the investment.

The majority of the day will be spent in this barn. it’s big enough to allow all your guests to comfortably seat and still have room for the dance floor.

Summer weddings are great for light. We had plenty of it on the day and this allows the couple to enjoy their wedding their way without the need to rush them. I suggested we use the grounds once the speeches and cake cut had been completed. It also gives the couple a breather for 5-10 minutes before entertainer everyone for the evening entertainment.

I keep everything relaxed and nothing too posed. I prefer real personalities and an authentic feel to my work. Harriett and Luke felt comfortable which allowed me to captured some truly amazing memories for them.

They smashed the couple shoot. I was really pleased with how relaxed they were and it shows with what we captured. This wedding venue in Tunbridge Wells was one of my favourites in 2022. it’s just different to many in the area.

We found ourselves back to the reception barn at the Chafford Park Estate and a wedding band was setting up to offer the evening entertainment. Live music works so well at weddings. It compliments the DJ and breaks the mould. I often stay until I have the wedding party captured. This may be a few songs after the first dance but sometimes later depending on how outgoing your guests are.
