A LAVISH AFFAIR AT THE WONDERFUL GOSFIELD HALL IN ESSEX.
This was yet another Lavish Affair at the Wonderful Gosfield Hall in Essex. Among the myriad of options available, Gosfield Hall stands out as a premier wedding venue that offers a stunning blend of elegance, history, and exceptional service.
If you are considering venues for your wedding, here are several reasons why Gosfield Hall should top your list.
The grounds: This wedding venue offers both indoor and outdoor locations to get married. Each area is perfectly manicured and has the Georgian mansion as a stunning backdrop to wow your wedding guests.
Flexible Accommodation Options: One of the standout features of Gosfield Hall is its luxurious accommodation for you and your guests. The venue offers a selection of beautifully appointed rooms, allowing you to host your entire wedding party on-site.
Gosfield Hall’s Exclusive Use: When you book your wedding at Gosfield Hall, you enjoy exclusive use of the venue. This means that you and your guests can enjoy the estate’s luxurious facilities without interruption from outside events.
Today I feature an event I shot back in November 2024. It was more like a pre wedding event or extravagant engagement party but it just goes to show how versatile this wedding venue can be.
Ceremony Capacity: The venue can host up to 120 guests for a civil ceremony, allowing you to invite your closest family and friends to witness your vows.
Reception Capacity: After the ceremony, you can celebrate in style with a wedding breakfast for up to 150 guests. The stunning ballroom is a real highlight and often ends up being the reason why couples fall in love and book this place. It’s an area fit for royalty and you’ll certainly feel like royalty on the day with exceptional service from their highly trained staff.
Evening Reception: If you’re hoping to extend the celebration beyond the dinner, Gosfield Hall can accommodate up to 250 guests for an evening reception, allowing you to dance the night away with all your loved ones.
We had an intimate number of guests at this event which made it easier for the couple to spend quality time with each of their favourite people. Joanna wanted a reveal to her fiancé in the library before we set off to capture David and his friends around the grounds.
We ended up meeting with some of the guests on the terrace and it made for some beautiful candid moments.
As mentioned previously in this blog, you have exclusive access to Gosfield Hall, so everything you see at this venue can be used for your big day when it comes your Gosfield Hall wedding photography. I opted to use the terrace with it’s lovely year round flower arrangement just outside the library, the courtyard to provide a secluded experience for my couple, and then the Grand Salon for some candid and romantic moments.
The staircase is located next to the grand Salon on the ground floor. As a trusted wedding photographer at Gosfield Hall, I like to use this space for couple shots, the cake cutting and on occasion, a place for toasting the couple. A toast took place at this particular event and it really lends itself to such a moment. The guests can then make their way to the library to grab a drink and continue the days celebrations.
My Gosfield Hall wedding photography will include group shots as standard. I’ll often use the steps outside the library for a stunning ready made backdrop. You do have to be a tad careful when choosing this location because the sun can be directly in the guests faces should you choose the wrong time of day to do this. Luckily, we had a bright, overcast day that gave us a soft light that looked complimentary to my subjects.
We wasn’t took far off of sitting down for our meal, so I took the opportunity to capture the room in all it’s glory before the guests sat. The Ballroom exudes luxury and in my opinion, stands head and shoulders above other wedding venues in terms of reception rooms. Floor to ceiling mirrors, ornate gold decor and wood panelling make this a sure fire winner in the wedding industry.
I enjoy capturing a moment between my couples at they see the Gosfield Hall ballroom for the first time. It’s a chance for the couple to share a couple of minutes away from their guests before they entertain them during their meal.
After the meal and speeches, Gosfield Hall offers a cocktail bar and dance floor next to the library. Guests will make their way down the stairs and along the corridor, through the library and in to the bar to dance the night away.
At a time of your choosing (often 7.30pm or 8pm), you’ll have your first dance in front of the DJ booth. It’s a cozy space where your guests can gather around the outside of the room to witness the official dance before joining the couple to celebrate.
I couldn’t be more complimentary about Gosfield Hall if I tried. I’m honoured to be a trusted wedding photographer, so I get to visit this wedding venue regularly. If you’re engaged and looking for an Essex wedding venue, get in touch with Linda on the Gosfield Hall website and enquire to see what they can do for you.
If you’ve already booked Gosfield Hall, they offer several open days to get to know your chosen venue better. It’s a great way to meet vendors and ask the staff any questions you might. Who knows, you may even bump in to me at one of those open days 🙂
So there we have it, a lavish affair at Gosfield Hall was complete. I have plenty more blogs from Gosfield Hall if you’d like to see how they turned out. I also have my port folio to look through should you want to see more of my work.
